Training session “Young Women Changing the World” organized by the Center for Education, Counselling and Research (CESI) from Zagreb was held from 20 to 23 March 2014 in Donja Stubica. The training session is part of the project supported by the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth of the Republic of Croatia.

Seminar consisted of interactive workshops on the distinction between sex and gender, identities, roles, gender stereotypes, socialization and gender inequality. Photographer and activist Ines Kotarac held the practical part of the seminar. She talked about technical details of a good photography and about activism in her work.

Last year’s participants of the “Young Women Changing the World” training session, and the editors of internet portal Libela.org, Hana Grgić and Svjetlana Knežević, held a lecture on cyber activism and gave some practical advice on that topic. They also presented the initiative “Za rad spremne” (Ready to Work), which started to develop on the last year’s training session. The last part of the seminar was dedicated to development of concrete actions, which will be conducted in the following three months, with the goal of raising awareness and educating the broader public on gender and related issues.

Seminar participants said that this was a unique type of seminar, very important to all the young women who want social changes. Concretization in terms of conducting actions was something that distinguished this seminar from all the seminars and lectures that are usually offered.

The training session was part of the project supported by the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth of the Republic of Croatia.
