On the occasion of marking the International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2016, organized by the Committee for Gender Equality of the Croatian Parliament and in cooperation with the association of B.a.B.e. and professors at the University of Zagreb, a thematic session will be held at the Croatian Parliament, Trg Sv.Marka 6, from 10 am to 12 pm, (Josip Šokčević Hall).
Gender Equality Committee of the Croatian Parliament in co-operation with the association of B.a.B.e. and professors of the University of Zagreb are organizing a debate in which students will make their own views on the assumptions that must be ensured for the creation and implementation of quality demographic policies. By simulating a parliamentary debate, students of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Political Science and the members of the youth of several political parties will put forward proposals that should be taken into account, especially from the perspective of gender equality, in order for demographic renewal to happen. Since the greatest burden in our society in child rearing and care is still women, their views and demands must not be circumvented in this process, and the Gender Equality Act must be a fundamental starting point.
Given the complexity of creating a sustainable demographic policy and the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach to the topic, finding the best solutions for its quality design, we seek the opinion of future experts from more scientific fields – law students, students of political sciences, sociology etc.
Interested persons are invited to attend the discussion, to join them and to hear what the demographic renewal is of a population, without which there is no future renewal.
